Facilitated by Raewyn Ngaamo from Poutama Pounamu, Nelson College’s teacher only day saw everyone engaged in critical reflection around the data gathered by Rongohia te Hau. Shared understandings were reached and many questions raised.
The importance of developing culturally responsive and relational pedagogy was explored and the essential part it plays in promoting belonging, equity and excellence. With Mauri Ora at the heart of our mahi, it became clear that this can be a major focus for professional learning going forward.
The next steps on this journey were briefly considered and eagerly anticipated by all.
